Quick Tips

  1. Speak out against hate and ignorance. Scared to do so? Bravery doesn't come from only doing what's easy.

  2. Donate your time, expertise, and/or money to organizations that support Israel and that fight antisemitism. The need is dire. I can direct you.

  3. Educate yourself and others. Read the Hamas charter so that you can speak from an educated platform on Hamas's dangerous ideologies and plans. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking this is just about the Jews. It's not.

  4. Understand how antisemitism manifests on the left and on the right. Jews are considered conspiratorial, the cause of all systemic problems, and the rulers of all abstract systems of control. They are considered either White or Not White, whichever is considered worse by the speaker.  Call it out when you see it.

  5. DO NOT hire people who glorify terrorism.

  6. Fire people who glorify terrorism.

  7. Reach out to individuals in leadership positions at your alma maters, and urge them to fight antisemitism on campuses and to protect Jewish students and faculty.

  8. Inquire about your kids' school curricula and make sure the curriculum around Israel is unbiased and not developed by BDS.

  9. STOP donating to organizations and universities that fail to condemn terrorism and that create unsafe environments for students and faculty. Some of the most despicable actors we've seen include MIT, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Cornell, CUNY, Albany Law School, and so many more. David is not happy that his two alma maters head that list.

  10. Research organizations before donating . You'd be amazed how many groups sound cute and fuzzy but are actually tied to terrorism. Don't fall prey.

  11. Contact members of Congress, and let them know that you expect them to take a stance against antisemitism - everywhere and especially on campuses - and that you expect them to support Israel's right to defend itself.

  12. Put your money into Jewish businesses. Buy food at kosher supermarkets. Eat meals at kosher restaurants. Buy books at Jewish bookstores. Jewish-owned businesses are being boycotted. These businesses need our help.

  13. Cancel subscriptions to publications that provide biased and unethical “reporting,” such as The New York Times, and tell them your reason for cancelling.

  14. Report accounts that post misinformation and that glorify terrorism - and (tip from an event that I hosted today with a former Facebook employee) before you report these accounts and posts, add a comment letting them know that you are reporting them for violating the platform's policies.

  15. Volunteer - as an attorney to provide pro bono legal services to those facing discrimination on account of being Jewish (again, if you're able to help, let me know).

  16. Volunteer - as a medical provider in Israel (there's a group coordinating emergency licenses for those not licensed to practice in Israel  yet).

  17. Reach out to your Jewish and Israeli friends, neighbors, colleagues, acquaintances. Let them know you're thinking about them. Let them know you know they aren't okay. Let them know you want to hear from them how you can support them.

  18. Create a supportive and compassionate professional environment for your Jewish and Israeli colleagues and employees. Many of them have family in Israel. Some of them may have lost loved ones, some may have loved ones who are kidnapped, some have loved ones who are fighting on the front lines. Many of them may have kids at schools where there are serious safety threats. Create an environment where people can work fewer hours, have extended deadlines, work remotely, take time off, etc. Show compassion and choose to be a leader.
